Success Stories: Bishop Creek Farms, Inc.

Challenge: We received a special request from one of our loyal clients, Cummins, Goodman, Fish, Denley & Vickers, P.C., in McMinnville. As a law firm, they have used Staffing Solutions' services for attorney placement as well as legal support. Reuel Fish, Managing Partner at Cummins Goodman, et al., is also the President of Bishop Creek Farms, Inc., dba Urban Wineworks. Because his firm has shareholder interest in the Bishop Creek Farms vineyard, his request was not for legal staff, but rather for a vineyard manager. The vineyard needed someone who could manage the wine production, vineyard plantings, marketing, and worker supervision.

Solution: Having never staffed a vineyard before, Staffing Solutions, et. al put on their networking caps and placed some phone calls to people knowledgeable in the wine community. For many years, Carol had done the winery tours with Fred Delkin and friends. She realized that Fred, who remains active in the Wine Growers Association, would be able to put them in touch with the right contacts. He recommended they call the owner of the Eyrie Vineyards, Mr. Lett. Using Fred as their reference, they talked to Mr. Lett and asked if he could refer anyone who was looking to be manager of a vineyard. To Carol's surprise, Mr. Lett referred his son, Jason! Jason Lett had been under the prestigious tutelage of the senior Mr. Lett since he was old enough to weed the vineyards. We invited Jason to come to the office and meet with Staffing Solutions to ascertain whether this was the opportunity in which he could be independent and spread his wings. Reuel knew he had found gold during the first interview and made the offer, which Jason accepted. Again, Staffing Solutions' long-term relationships helped to find the "perfect match," regardless of how daunting the task seemed at the outset.
