On August 19, 1810, the USS Constitution engaged the HMS Guerriere. The battle lasted 35 minutes. The story is told that cannon shots from Guerriere made no impression upon the outside planking of Constitution, but fell into the sea, whereupon one of the British sailors shouted, "Huzzah! Her sides are made of iron!" Thus, Constitution earned her title of "Old Ironsides."

Assignment Types: Temporary, Full-time and That-Thingy-in-the-Middle

Our applicants come from a variety of backgrounds.

Many are working their way through college or returning to work after focused family time. Some are switching careers altogether and find working through a staffing company to be the perfect way to explore different fields, consider their work environment strengths, and evaluate different management styles.

Temporary Assignments
Temporary assignments can be short-term or long-term and can vary in duration from four hours to many months. Candidates benefit by taking advantage of stop-gap employment opportunities or enjoying the variety of work experience and personal-professional balance being "permanent" temporary employees. Client companies profit from time-sensitive and flexible staffing assistance.

Contract-to-Hire Assignments
How much is that "jobby" in the window? Well, the pay will vary, but these contract-to-hire (or "temp-to-perm") assignments usually last from 400-520 working hours. They offer both client company and candidate an opportunity to "audition" the other before offering (or accepting) the position on a full-time basis.

Full-time/Direct Hires
Full-time/direct hires (also referred to as "permanent") positions can offer a seamless employment transition for both client companies and candidates. In this option, the candidate is placed on the client company's payroll from the first day of her employment.

No other staffing firm tests its applicants more rigorously than Staffing Solutions. Candidates can expect to spend two to three hours completing our registration process which profiles his/her years' experience, particular practice strengths, and certifications. We test for proficiency in

  • typing for WPM and accuracy
  • transcription proficiency
  • software application proficiency (see below)
  • grammar and punctuation
  • business vocabulary
  • business spelling
  • filing
  • numbers and alpha-numeric matching

Testing can include the entire Microsoft Windows suite of applications, WordPerfect, and other software. We can also customize our testing depending on a specific client's requirements to include the following:
